Toshiba announced that they will establish a branch office (Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte., Ltd. Yangon Branch Office) in Yangon (formerly Rangoon), Myanmar in May. With recent changes in Myanmar opening the country to democratization and outside cooperation, there have been increased opportunities in this country. Japan has a new policy of economic cooperation with Myanmar and Japanese companies have begun to look at this opportunity.
