New Hangouts v2 will support SMS and MMS, but Google Voice integration will take some time

Many suspected that once the all new Hangouts v2 began rolling out on Google Play (arriving first on the Nexus 5), it would bring not only the SMS integration we've all been requesting, but integrated Google Voice SMS and calling too. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like Google Voice anything on Hangouts wont be happening anytime soon. According to Googler Nikhyl Singhal, Google has run into some snags with getting Google Voice integrated into Hangouts.

Police using GPS cannons to tag cars, reduce chases

Police using GPS cannons to tag cars, reduce chases

Police agencies are always looking for ways to limit or prevent high-speed pursuits, but that usually involves disabling the offending vehicle with spike strips or some other device. A company called StarChase has been working on a GPS-based system that eliminates the need for a chase and doesn't put officers in harm's way. Although we first reported on this back in 2007, ABC Action News in Tampa shows that the technology is now being tested on a broader scale.

Android 4.4 KitKat Could Be Designed For Lower-End Android Devices And Wearables

Google's Android 4.4 KitKat was announced back in September and we expect the platform to see a release any day now. The latest version of Android is expected to be an upgrade over the previous builds of Android, naturally, but is that all there is to it. Well according to former Wall Street Journal report, Amir Efrati, it seems that apart from introducing various upgrades and improvements to the Android operating system, Android 4.4 KitKat could also be the version of Android that Google might use to target lower-end devices as well as wearable electronics, like a Google-made smartwatch for example.

It should be no surprise the Wii U hasn't performed as well as Nintendo may have expected it to as its sales continue to disappoint the company on a regular basis. The latest reports coming from Nintendo continue to show how poorly the console is performing as a total of 460,000 Wii U consoles sold worldwide in the six month period ending on September 30. Crazy crash at LeMons race caught on camera

This video from the 2013 Halloween Hooptiefest 24 Hours of LeMons race is the kind of scary stuff that keeps us reviewing cars instead of racing them. This driver is puttering about, carrying good speed and, from the brief recording we can see, driving quite well. That is, until another driver, who seemingly comes out of nowhere, attempts to put his front tire where the passenger seat should be. It's a scary crash, not just because of the purple-wheeled car coming from the blind side, but for the way the tire very nearly gets into the cabin.

The company managed to exceed its own guidance of $34-37 billion in revenue, scoring $37.5 billion in total sales. Net profit stood at $7.5 billion. The numbers donÂ't compare particularly favorably to the same period of last year when Apple profited $8.2 billion on $36 billion of revenue.

The next-generation of video game consoles will continue the ability for gamers to download and play their games directly from their hard drives, although according to some photos of Xbox One game case covers are any indication, we may not be able to fit as many games on these hard drives as we originally anticipated. Reddit user BenneyBopper published photos of Xbox One game cases that were spotted at an EB Games store. The games that were spotted were Dead Rising 3, Ryse and Forza Motorsport 5, each of which will require a certain amount of data to be installed on the Xbox One's hard drive.

Spigen updates site with new Nexus 5 accessories, still clinging to "End of October" ship date

Spigen has been quite the bold accessory manufacturer as of late. The company had no problems leaking some early screen protectors for the Nexus 5 on Amazon, and now they've updated their site with more official case accessories ahead of launch. New additions include “Infinity White,” “Champagne Gold,” and “Smooth Black” colors for the Slim Armor case, Black and Gray for the Ultra Hybrid case, and “Champagne Gold,” “Metal Slate,” and “Satin Silver” colors for the Neo Hybrid (though we'd already gotten a decent sneak peek at the latter in an earlier leak).

The Microsoft Xbox One will come bundled with a Kinect sensor. Previously Microsoft had stated that the Kinect needed to be on all the time to get the Xbox One to function, but has since backtracked on that. However we're sure that there are still some users out there who might be a little paranoid about the Kinect's microphone and camera, and that technically Microsoft could use those tools to "spy" on them and track their movements, at least within the home.

Making 'the best driver's car in the world': A closer look at McLaren's P1 hypercar

Chrome cars and grand-prix winners. Before my tour officially began, I had some time to walk around the Technology Center, which has Grand Prix-winning cars in every direction. A rare (and prohibitively expensive) chrome-decked 12C caught my eye almost immediately. Here, as on the P1, the looks of this special edition are the result of hundreds of hours of research and development. McLaren teamed up with paint and coating experts AkzoNobel to craft this chrome finish, which weighs a third of the original paint prototype.

Spigen's Nexus 5 Cases Pegged For "End Of October" Release

If the rumors are to be believed, the Google Nexus 5 handset is pegged for a launch at the end of October, the 31st of October to be exact. While the date is currently a rumor that cannot be confirmed yet, accessory manufacturer, Spigen, has recently unveiled a series of cases and bumpers designed for the Nexus 5 and according to their shipping date, they have pegged it for "end of October" which definitely corroborates the earlier 31st of October rumor. Based on what we can see, Spigen's cases for the Nexus 5 are pretty cool and sleek as expected from the accessory manufacturer that has produced some pretty impressive designs in the past.

It has long been thought that wearing a certain color says something about you, but Phones 4u UK wasnÂ't satisfied with old wives' tales. Instead the retailer dug pretty deep and found that red, for example, "is the color of those who live life to the fullest. Tenacious and determined, a red mobile phone symbolizes strength, health and passion. It is usually chosen by people with an open and uncomplicated nature".
The retailer liked red so much, it secured exclusivity on the Glamor red versions of the HTC One (available now from £33) and the HTC One mini.

Toffee Mission Rucksack for iPad review

Toffee Mission Rucksack for iPad review

. A few months ago, Julie asked us to post our EDC (everyday carry) bag. Since then, I realized that I had nothing remotely resembling an EDC, so I thought I would try to remedy that. The main requirement I had was that it had to fit my iPad with its case on, and be big enough to fit all of my purse items and a few extra gadgets. The first bag I came across was the Mission Rucksack for iPad from Toffee. It claims to have good storage space and is made to fit and protect an iPad. Let's see how it performed.

The rucksack is made of water resistant, waxed canvas with tanned leather trims.
