Apple Introduces the 128GB iPad

Apple recently hasn't been standing tall lately for various reasons. One is that they recently saw their stock price go down to amid the reports of lower than expected earnings forecast for the next quarter. It even has been overtaken lately in top place as the most valuable company in the world. It even got itself overtaken as the company with the best selling smartphone. But still, despite these lows, Apple is still trying to come out on top by offering products that people continue to desire.

Spy photographers have finally managed to lay a lens on the upcoming Audi S3 Cabriolet. The new convertible stepped out into the light of day for a little winter testing, and from the looks of things, the model will borrow plenty of design cues from the larger A5. Not that we're complaining. Word has it the S3 will put around 300 horsepower to the pavement via a quattro all-wheel drive system.

Ford Focus EV's slow sales trigger massive incentives

Ford Focus EV's slow sales trigger massive incentives

The Detroit News reports Ford is having real trouble moving its new Focus Electric. As a result, the automaker is offering substantial incentives in an attempt to lure in more buyers. How substantial. Try $10,750 off of a three-year lease. What's more, the EV can now be had for $37,995 ($2,000 less than its original base price) on top of an additional $2,000 cash discount to buy the EV outright – or you can opt for 1.9-percent financing if you work through Ford Motor Credit. None of which factors in various potential government incentives.

Reuters has reported that Apple missed Wall Street's revenue forecast for the third straight quarter, mainly because iPhone sales were lower than expected. This news made investors worried about Apple's dominance in the mobile industry, as its shares fell 10 percent closing at $463. That was equivalent to a market value loss of around $50 billion. Apple said it shipped 47.8 million iPhones last quarter, which was up 29 percent compared to the same time period last year.

Nissan Leaf becomes least expensive 5-seat EV with massive price drop

In a roundtable interview today at the North American International Auto Show, Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn announced a $6,400 price drop for the base-model 2013 Nissan Leaf. Last year's base model was $35,200, while the new base-level 2013 Leaf S starts at $28,800. Ghosn says the new prices make the Leaf the least expensive five-seater electric for sale in the US. Some of the lower cost is due to a difference in content from last year's low-end model to this year's. But a sizable portion can be chalked up to the Leaf's production moving from Japan to Tennessee.

Drinking can be quite the dangerous activity when you've lost count of how many drinks you've had. Sure – pounding down drink after drink can be fun, but the results of those drinks can make for one bummer of an evening or following morning if you've lost count. We know you can have your designated driver keep tabs on how many drinks you've had, but if they're sour about not being able to drink for the night, then they can certainly screw you over. Our friends at Road & Track recently stopped by Cars and Coffee in Irvine, California, with the 2013 SRT Viper and found themselves a place to park between a Lamborghini Aventador and a Lexus LFA. Those machines might as well be the three musketeers of ludicrous exhaust notes, and rather than keep those 24 raging cylinders muffled, R&T set about conducting an orchestra of internal combustion. On seeing these three lined up, we were more than prepared to call the Viper victorious when it came to tickling our ear drums, but the latest domestic V10 sounds down right civilized in this company.

The major cellular providers continue to force their customers into bigger, bolder, more expensive plans that many folks do not need. I admit that I moved our family to Verizon's Family Share Plan, where we pay a premium price for unlimited talk, text, and 6GB of data. However, there are many people that are not power or even marginal users. There are those who do not spend 1000′s of minutes talking, constantly texting, or streaming the latest viral YouTube videos. For those who do not want to pay $100+ per month to have a smartphone on a major carrier, there are other options.

Protect your iPhone 5 with Griffin's Survivor + Catalyst waterproof case

Protect your iPhone 5 with Griffin's Survivor + Catalyst waterproof case

The Survivor + Catalyst case for iPhone 5 from Griffin is waterproof to 3 meters and has an IP68 rating; you can even take photos and videos underwater.  Griffin consulted the U.S. Department of Defense's Mil-Std 810G regulations when designing the case, so it's proof against 6-foot drops onto cement, wind-blown rain, and vibrations.  It has a polycarbonate exterior with nylon controls covers.  The silicone gasket PET screen cover keep the outside out, and the interior TPE bumpers absorb shocks.  The Survivor + Catalyst is a utilitarian case that doesn't have to look utilitarian.
